Help Hospitalized Veterans has provided arts & crafts to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), Landstuhl, Germany since 1999. On a visit to the facility in 2006, however, HHV learned that wounded military personnel who arrive at LRMC are often still clothed in dirty fatigues or a hospital gown, as there is rarely time for an injured or sick soldier to pack a bag prior to being airlifted to medical aid. That’s where LRMC’s Wounded Warrior Ministry can help.

The Ministry, (formerly known as the Chaplain’s Closet which originated in October 2002) provides comfort items such as clothes, shoes, toiletries, phone cards and various sundries to injured troops.
Upon hearing of the Ministry’s services and the ongoing need for such items, HHV’s Board of Directors resolved to assist. In September 2006 HHV made a monetary donation to the Ministry. The donation was intended for use where the need was greatest, which at the time was footwear.

The Ministry accepts donations of cash or new items such as men’s and women’s fleece, men’s and women’s athletic shoes, backpacks, gym bags and small suitcases.
